Parenting. Just the word can be exhilarating to some and overwhelming to others. This Sunday, we are going to hit this subject head on and you definitely want to be there! Regardless of whether you are a parent or plan to be a parent, children are a part of our society and as such, we should hear and apply God’s Word to this important area of life. There are many approaches out there. I am reminded of Bill Cosby’s words on parenting:
Parenting According to Bill Cosby...
* Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name it will carry.
* Human beings are the only creatures on earth that allow their children to come back home.
* Parents are not interested in justice, they’re interested in peace and quiet.
* Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.

Well, this is fun, but let’s get serious. Children and the parenting of these gifts from God is of the upmost importance! We started this church with a clear understanding that we would always spend lots of time, money, and resources to raise up and reach the next generation for Christ! The Bible states this importance like this:
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
