The Mundas

We have been attending newhope church since May, 2009. I believe it was a "Divine Coincidence", if I may call it, that we found out about this church while on our way to Jordan Lake.  When we saw this new building on the left side of the road, we said "Wow, What's that? Is that a church?" Something struck me beyond the beautiful architecture. It was the word "RELEASE" painted on its front. For years since we moved to the United States we have been constantly searching for a Christian church that we could call our "home church"; a church where we could grow in Christ as a family. We had become "permanent visitors" in several churches and somehow became captives of our own complacency and imprisoned by our self-fabricated "Transient Christianity".

My curiosity about the word “Release” brought me and my family to this church for the very first time that following Sunday. It has amazed me that even the simple smile of the greeters and ushers who welcomed us is a very powerful ministry of this church. I recognized people like me; the lost and the found, believers and people looking for something to believe in, people who are longing and the satisfied, people in need and people willing to give, just ordinary people of the LORD. Instantly, I knew that we didn't have to search for a church again. It found us. We were home! Every Sunday is no longer a routine trip to the church and sitting in the pew, but an opportunity to feel the powerful conviction and the saving grace of God. It is a dynamic experience to come and feel His goodness and hopefully, a chance to make Him feel good with our service and praise. It is a wonderful place for the very young and the very old to grow closer and nurture a personal relationship with Christ. It is a melting pot of believers with one purpose and in so many ways; to glorify God. As parents, we are so thankful and grateful that the Children’s Ministry is introducing the Word of God in our children's young minds. We cannot do it alone in our homes. We have learned and are still learning that the Word that brought us to this church has a deeper meaning and is only a part of a bigger equation; Reach, Teach, Release. And so, our journey goes on...
