What to Expect

It’s a big deal visiting a new church for the first time. You may wonder:

Can I come if I’m not sure what I believe?

At newhope, we want to make your visit a great one – easy, straightforward, and uncomplicated. We are intentionally “user-friendly” for everyone regardless of their background. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:

Showing up

When you arrive at our Southpoint Campus (click here for directions) for one of the 8:15 am, 10:10 am, or noon services, or at our Garner Campus (click here for directions) for the 9:00 am or 10:45 services, you’ll find ample parking with parking lot attendants to assist you as needed. If it’s your first time, turn on your headlights and you’ll be directed to our reserved parking area closest to the church!

Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by friendly faces in the rotunda which houses registration kiosks to securely check in your children to our wonderful children’s ministry that provides a fun, engaging experiences for children ages birth-5 grade (hopetown - click here for details). We also have a middle school, high school, and college ministry (click here for details). The rotunda also houses a Coffee Shop (Higher Grounds) and/or a dedicated area to provide you with refreshments before or after service.

You will notice that everyone is dressed comfortably in everything from “office casual” to jeans and flip-flops. So “come as you are!”

Through the doors

Service begins with upbeat music led by our worship arts team (drums, guitars, keyboards, vocalists), followed by a welcome and greeting. Don’t worry, we don’t make you stand and introduce yourself!  You can meet Pastor Benji or your Campus Leader after the service in our Next Steps Room where you can ask any questions and find out the vision of newhope and the ways in which God is blessing our church family.

The sermon is designed to be Biblically based, relevant to daily life, interesting, and enjoyable. It is scripture driven, often including interesting ideas from contemporary culture, events, songs, or movies. Often there is a video, musical feature or drama to further expand the message of the day.

At the end of service, you should have experienced solid Christian teaching that was understandable and relevant. Our mission is to provide everyone who walks through our door a genuine transformational experience of God. In addition, we want you to experience community and friendship, and we trust you will find genuine warmth and openness at newhope!

We hope to see you Sunday!
